Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Nelson Library was formed in 1991 are a group of people who are interested in supporting and promoting their library and strengthening its links with the community.
What the Friends of the Nelson Library do
- Support the libraries by promoting them in the community
- Organise and assist with events and activities for 'Friends' and the public
- Take part in library events and activities
- Promote books and reading
- Enjoy the fellowship of and getting to know other 'Friends'
- Run the monthly book sale at the Elma Turner Library on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 12pm

- $6 worth of free library reserves or CD/DVD rentals

Download an application form (82KB PDF) and drop it off (including payment) at your nearest library (Elma Turner in Nelson, Stoke Library, or Nellie Nightingale Memorial, in Tahunanui).
