National Poetry Day 2019

Our open mic lunchtime session returns for National Poetry Day. Join us and share your poetry with a small, encouraging audience or come along just to listen to some great Nelson poetry. All welcome, no charge, register on arrival if you wish to speak. Last year was a lively occasion with a wonderful range of speakers and we hope to see another great turnout for National Poetry Day this year. We are very pleased to have the fantastic Roger Lusby as our compere again. 12pm - 1pm Friday 23 August at Elma Turner Library.

At Your Library - June 2019

There will be a new ‘pop-up library service’ in Stoke, while the assessment for internal damage is undertaken during the temporary closure of the Stoke Library. The pop-up service will operate from Greenmeadows (upstairs function room overlooking the Greenmeadows field), access from Main Road Stoke or the car park on Songer Street.

NZ Sign Language Week

To celebrate NZ Sign Week a few of our librarians got together to read Kōrero Mai Animals - one of the first children's books to use all three of our national languages!
