Cool Reading Challenge
The Cool Reading Challenge is here! Enrol now at any of our branches - the challenge is for primary school aged children and runs through the months of winter.
We know how popular our summer reading challenge is so we are very excited to bring you our first winter reading challenge for 5 - 12 year olds. Sign up at any of our branches. The reading challenge runs for 12 weeks through the months of winter. Each week complete one of the challenges and receive a puzzle piece. Can you collect all 12 pieces to make your own puzzle?
Each challenge is a fun activity that can be completed at home or in the library. Some of the challenges include writing a letter, completing the Te Reo word search and making, hiding and finding origami in the Children's Library.
The challenges are fun and easy to complete and are a great way to keep busy through the cold months ahead. The Cool Reading Challenge is free and open to anyone aged 5 - 12 - pop into one of our branches to sign up and get your activity pack. A librarian will be happy to answer any questions you have about the challenge.
And did you know? This Saturday the 9th of June is our first session of Saturday Stories. Come along for stories and crafts from 11 am at Elma Turner Library. While you're here check out our board games and sign up for the Cool Reading Challenge.
