Summer Reading Shenanigans at the Library
We’re excited to present our new adult summer reading challenge – read, play bingo and win! The Biblio Bingo Bonanza kicks off on 3 December and runs through until the 27 January. Have a go at our reading challenges, and check them off on your bingo card to win some great prizes. We have one Kobo Clara ereader to give away, plus two $50 book vouchers and every participant will receive three $2 vouchers to use for DVD loans or holds charges. Enrol in person at any of our branches to take part.
The bingo challenge will help you to power through your to-be-read pile and provide some inspiration for your days at the beach. If you’re having a staycation pop down to Elma Turner Library to our drop-in readers’ advisory sessions where we can pair you with your next great read (and help you complete a line on your bingo card).
Each weekday between 10 and 20 December and 14 and 25 January we will have a drop-in readers’ advisory session, at around lunch time each day (exact times will be publicised on social media).
We are also excited to announce that our Children’s Summer Reading Programme is back. Join Bastet the Cat Goddess in her adventures, to help stop the evil serpent Apep from plunging Egypt into darkness. Follow her adventures and challenges by reading 20 mins a day over summer holidays. Every child who enters will receive a free book to get them started. Open to children aged 6 – 12, register in person at any of our branches from December 8th.
Teenagers won’t miss out with our Young Adult Summer Reading Programme. For anyone aged 13-19, participants are given a series of challenges and asked to send in a photo of each one they complete. Each photo gives them one entry in the draw to win one of four $50 book vouchers! Sign up in person or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, the challenge runs from 3 December – 27 January.
