Nelson Summer Reading Challenge

The Nelson Summer Reading Challenge is coming to a library near you!

Roam In Romania

This year, our popular children’s challenge sees us exploring Romania as we take you on an adventure around this historic country. Participants can chose their own adventure by making their way through a ghost tour of the country or selecting a historical trip.

Roam in Romania is  for children ages 5-12 years. You can signup between 11 - 27 December in any of our branches. You can read more about Roam in Romania here.

Book Your Summer

The rest of us don't have to miss out as we are inviting you to pack your bags and take a trip with the Book Your Summer Challenge. Have an adventure in Africa, take a journey to the English countryside, spend time with the penguins in Antarctica or travel to another galaxy by reading a book set in a another country.

We've created a passport for your trip which is filled with eight continents – Oceania, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Antarctica, Off The Grid – along with tear-out airline tickets.

Read a book either set in, or written by an author from, the continent and write the title on one of the tickets before returning it to the library. Each ticket puts you in the draw to win a hamper full of travel-related prizes. You can enter as many times as you like and visit the same place more than once.

Prize categories will be:

• 18 years and over
• 12 - 17 years
• Bonus entry! Send us a photo of where you’re visiting (either in real life or through the pages) to go into our travel photo competition.

All entries must be in by February 11th in time for the prize draw on Sunday the 14th.

Grab a passport from any of our branches or submit your entries through our online form.
