We understand this is a difficult time and have put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
The decision to require a My Vaccine Pass to enter the libraries has been made using the Local Government Covid Protection Framework guidance. This required us to assess a number of factors, including the safety of staff, public health risk and maintaining public access to services.
We want people to continue to enjoy the libraries, while still protecting the health of staff and the public which is why a My Vaccine Pass in now required. Please note that these guidelines are not set in stone and are subject to change depending on the COVID-19 situation.
Do I still need to wear a mask?
Yes. Under the Red and Orange Level of the current Traffic Light Protection Framework mask wearing is mandatory for both staff and for visitors 12-years and over, unless you have an exemption.
Can I still return books?
Yes. All three libraries have external returns slots where you can drop off your items.
Are you offering Click and Collect?
Yes, our Click and Collect service is now live. Click here for more info
Can I collect my holds?
If you have items currently on the hold shelf, we can organise a contactless pick-up for you. Please get in touch via email or phone so we can arrange the best way to do this.
What services can I access?
Many of the library’s services can be accessed remotely. Ebooks, audiobooks, online magazines and newspapers can all be found here.
Library members can also use Kanopy to access movies and documentaries.
We can help with our online collection, research, or other tech help through phone, zoom, or email. Please get in touch by email, phone or through the Book a Librarian form on our website.
How do I join the library?
If you aren’t already a library member you can join through our website. This will give you access to The library’s online catalogue includes more than 13,000 ebooks and audiobooks, 2400 newspapers and 3900 magazines via PressReader and more than 30,000 movies, television shows, courses and documentaries.
What if I need to download or print My Vaccine Pass?
If you have received both vaccinations but don’t have your pass yet, let library staff know when you arrive and we will assist you in downloading your pass.
How can I pay my library fees?
You are able to make payments online through a bank transfer or by filling out the online credit card form. This is more information on how to do this here. If you are unable to make payments online, please get in touch and we can chat to you about other options available.
What if I need the Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is available from outside the buildings until 8pm each night.
