NZ Music Month is coming! Drop by Elma Turner Library throughout the month of May to catch some performances by local bands and musicians

Kramit Acoustic Duo
Originally from Southland this acoustic folk duo play original music as well as a diverse repertoire as a covers band. Sweet harmonies and groovy bass lines drive their sound.


Avid Opera
Beautiful opera melodies sung by Allison Cormack, Lorna Sherin & Amanda Crehan accompanied by Pauline Boyd


Bob Bickerton
An Introduction to taonga puoro, the traditional musical instruments of Māori.
Hear Bob demonstrate the instruments, talk about their whakapapa and how they were used.


Rural Mail
Rural Mail: Paul & Chrissie Bond, Roger & Deirdre Lusby
A quartet that performs New Zealand ballads, songs and poems, both traditional and self penned, the group has a unique sound featuring harmonies and variety.


Flightless Birds
The Flightless Birds trio sing in three-part harmony. They are Jane Bayley, Amanda Crehan and Deanne Kilpatrick. Their repertoire covers the early 1900‘s through to the present.


Violin Quartet
Quartets by Telemann, Szelenyi as well as a movement of solo Bach each.
The musicians are:
Theo Parker, Alec Mark, Cara Bryant, and Eva Secker


Mosaic Choir
Mosaic is Nelson’s longest-standing world music choir and have been bringing a cappella pleasure to audiences for over 20 years with their high energy and vibrancy. This 45-strong choir is directed by Shannel Courtney and has been described as one of Nelson hidden treasures
