Join local authors Jenny Williams and George Penney for an afternoon of stories, ideas, and engaging conversation. Together they'll explore Jenny's new literary psychological thriller, House of Liars.
Written by a former AI ethics insider, the novel explores the seductiveness of artificial intelligence as it infiltrates our most intimate spaces, centering the struggles of modern motherhood against the backdrop of a publishing industry being remade by AI.
Jenny Williams spent over eight years at Google and Microsoft, where she worked on AI ethics, content design, and research on creativity and AI. She holds a BA in English from UC Berkeley, an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College, and a Master of Design from Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington.
George Penney is a best-selling comedy fiction author who was once saved from being a bunny-slipper-wearing academic by an unexpected three book publishing deal with Penguin Random House. She’s a driven workaholic who spends her spare time people watching, tramping around the wilds of Aotearoa New Zealand, voraciously reading and researching for fun.
