You can 3D print at the Elma Turner Library!
The Elma Turner Library has a Bambu Lab X1C 3D Printer called Bamby available for the public to use.
For a small fee, you can print replacement parts—like clips, knobs, or brackets—extending the life of household items and reducing waste. You can print figurines and props for your next tabletop adventure or replacement pieces for your favourite board game! The possibilities are endless!
Steps to print:
1. Find or build your model in Makerworld.
2. Fill out the form below.
3. We'll get back to you with a colour choice (based on current availability), a price estimate (calculated at $0.40/per gram for the finished product), and a timeframe for the print to be completed.
4. Once the print is complete, we'll send you a reminder to come and pick it up. The price of the print will be added to your library account for payment when you pick up the print.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I print?
Anything you have a design for! Bamby is compatible with designs that can be found on Makerworld. You are also able to build models there. If you want to use your own .stl or other CAD file, you will need to download Bambu Studio to upload it to Makerworld for us to print.
Please note that we reserve the right to decline any print that we deem inappropriate to produce in a public place.
How much does it cost?
Prints are charged at $0.40 per gram of the finished product, including supports. We will send you a pricing estimate when you submit your print design, however, the final price will be calculated once the print is completed and applied to your library account. Payment will be required to pick up your print.
How long will it take for me to get my print?
Production times will vary depending on supplies, staff availability, and any current waitlist. When you send us a design to print, we will reply to you as soon as possible with more information, including what position you are in the queue (if applicable).
Can I come and watch my design being printed?
We will endeavour to let you know when your print will be being done so that you can come and watch it if you would like to, however, some prints may be done overnight to keep up with demand. If you would like to be able to watch some of your print being done, please let us know in your initial email.
What is a print profile?
A print profile gives us specific information like size, dimensions etc for the model you're printing. When you click into a design on Makerworld, the print profile options will be available on the right hand side of the screen. Hover over each option to read more about how much the print weighs, and the time it will take for the print to complete once we've started it.
What materials are available?
We only have classic PLA filament available to print with. Colours are subject to current stock; we will let you know your options when we reply to your request to print via email.
Will you create a custom 3D model for me if I send you a reference photo?
No. You will need to design the print file yourself. There are beginner courses available online to learn how to design using CAD software. You can make your own design in this and then upload it to Makerworld yourself. You can then send us that link to print. Please note that you may be liable for any fees associated with materials should your print fail due to incorrect design specifications.
