Book Groups

Connect with other book-lovers at one of our groups.

Book Chat

This group meets at both the Elma Turner and Stoke Libraries. There is no set book or need to register, just come along and chat to others about what you've been reading lately.

Elma Turner Library - Second Tuesday of each month, 10.30am.

Stoke Library - Third Wednesday of every month, 5.30pm

Dementia-Friendly Reading Group

On the first Wednesday of the month, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m, we also run a Dementia-Friendly Book Group in the Elma Turner Library in Nelson. This is open to people at all stages of memory loss as well as their whānau or carers. There's no need to book in, just pop along for a cup of tea and conversation as our librarian reads you a story.

Riverside Reads

Immerse yourself in captivating stories, connect with fellow book lovers, and enrich your reading experience.

Riverside Reads meets monthly at Elma Turner Library on a Wednesday from 5:30pm, all reading and discussing the same title. Participants need to register monthly to receive a copy of the book, and return it at the meeting. There is no cost.
